No one throws a standard Owambe party like a Yoruba family in Lagos. Yemi’s boss’s wife was turning forty-five years of age, and his boss intended to paint the city red and go all out for his wife. This gist filled the workspace for about two weeks and frankly, Yemi looked forward to the occasion.
The day of the event came, and it was more than the office gossip. From the music to the food, dance, hosting, and dresses, everything was perfect and exciting. Yemi arrived at the scene an hour before the commencement of the celebration.
The master of ceremony (MC) had just announced the entrance of the celebrant for the first dance when the lights went off. The entire hall was in darkness.
